Helen Lane Nutrition Research

Dr. Helen Lane of Houston, Texas provided initial funds to establish this endowment in 1999. Dr. Lane serves as a dietitian with NASA. Others are encouraged to contribute to this endowment in support of nutrition research.

The purpose of this scholarship is to promote nutrition research by undergraduate or graduate students or Registered Dietitians. The scholarship is to provide funding to assist the student’s training in nutrition research. For RDs, you may be enrolled in coursework to expand training in research (without seeking additional degrees). These funds provide research expenses such as laboratory supplies, books, paper, computer usage, and potentially travel. Nutrition research covers food science and technology, clinical or community dietetics, food service or nutritional biochemistry.

The recipient must be:

  • Note: requires a supplemental form in addition to the application
