Past Scholarship Recipient Highlight:Kristina-Mata-Head-Shot

Kristina Mata, MDS, RDN, LD is a successful clinical dietitian in Corpus Christi. Kristina received a Texas Academy Foundation scholarship while in school and this is what she has to say about receiving her scholarship: “During my graduate career at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, I had the privilege and honor of receiving a Texas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation scholarship. While this scholarship helped alleviate the financial burden of school, it allowed me to focus my full attention on my school work and dietetic internship. The Foundation scholarship helped me pursue and achieve my dream of becoming a Registered Dietitian – a career that I absolutely love. Being awarded a scholarship, also allowed me to network with dietetic students and registered dietitians all across the great state of Texas. It is a great feeling to know that I have colleagues all across Texas that I can always reach out to for information, education, assistance and to collaborate with on projects. The Texas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation is a fabulous organization that fosters learning, growth, and supports young dietetic students become successful Registered Dietitians in Texas.”
